Airblock Drone Can Turn Into a Hovercraft

This drone is making a splash—literally. Called the Airblock educational drone, it can soar through the air, then transform into a hovercraft and glide over water or solid basis. Developed past San Francisco-based DIY robotics company Makeblock.

It launched on Kickstarter recently and has already surpassed its US$100,000 funding goal.

Designed to "encourage the spirit of creating," the US$99 Airblock "transforms similar magic" from a drone to a hovercraft, to something else entirely that you lot design. Its magnetic, modular parts are easy to assemble and disassemble without whatever tools. They're made of engineered plastic foam, and then information technology'southward crash-friendly and safe to wing indoors or out.

"We're passionate almost robotics and Stem, our dream is to permit everyone experience that sense of achievement that comes from creating something out of zilch," the Kickstarter page reads. "We want them to be amazed and recollect 'wow, I made that?'"
